Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 20 August 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
Scanlet is operated by MKCode (trading as Scanlet). By creating an account or using the service you enter into an agreement with us. If you use Scanlet on behalf of an organisation you confirm you have authority to bind it; if you use it as an individual you confirm you are of legal age in your country.
2. Acceptance
By accessing or continuing to use Scanlet you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, stop using the service. We may update these terms; material changes will be notified in the app or by email.
3. The service
Scanlet lets you build hosted event pages (weddings, birthdays, webinars, conferences and similar) from content blocks, collect RSVPs, and generate QR codes that link to those pages. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the service within the plan you have selected.
4. Your account
You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date, keep your credentials confidential, and you are responsible for all activity under your account. Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.
5. Acceptable use
You must not:
- use Scanlet for unlawful purposes, fraud, phishing, scams or spam;
- publish content that infringes intellectual property, privacy or other rights, or that is unlawful, hateful, harassing or deceptive;
- use QR codes or pages to mislead scanners about their destination, or to distribute malware;
- interfere with the security or integrity of the service — probing, scanning, scraping, circumventing plan limits, or reverse engineering;
- resell or redistribute the service without our written consent.
6. Your content and rights
You keep ownership of the content you upload. You grant us a limited licence to host, store, reproduce and display that content solely to operate and provide the service. You confirm you have the rights to all content you upload, including images and guest data.
If you believe content on a Scanlet page infringes your rights, email legal@scanlet.page with details of the page and the rights concerned. We review takedown requests promptly, may remove or restrict content, and may suspend accounts for repeated infringement.
7. Our intellectual property
We retain all rights in the Scanlet platform, including software, design system, templates, documentation and branding. No rights are granted except as expressly stated.
8. Service level
We work to keep Scanlet available and reliable, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation. Maintenance, third-party outages and factors outside our control may affect availability. To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim implied warranties, including merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose.
9. Payment and subscriptions
Paid plans are billed in advance on a monthly or annual basis and renew automatically until cancelled. Payment, billing, tax, currency, cancellation and refund mechanics are governed by Paddle's Buyer Terms. Our Refund Policy also applies.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
10. Suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate access for material breach of these terms, non-payment, security or fraud risk, or repeated or serious policy violations. You may cancel at any time. On termination your pages stop being served; you can export RSVP data for 30 days after termination, after which data may be deleted.
11. Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law we are not liable for indirect, consequential or special damages, including loss of profits, data, goodwill or business interruption. Our aggregate liability is capped at the fees you paid in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing limits liability for fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
12. Indemnity
You indemnify us against claims arising from your content, your unlawful use of the service, or your breach of these terms.
13. General
You may not assign this agreement without our consent; we may assign it in connection with a merger or acquisition. Neither party is liable for failures caused by events beyond reasonable control. These terms are governed by the laws of the seller's jurisdiction, and disputes are subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of its courts, without affecting mandatory consumer rights in your country of residence.
